DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTROLS

MASTER
PHONES - controls the volume of the head phones
TUNE - this is overall tune of the synth
GLIDE - portamento time (only for OSC I)
1 VOICE / 2 VOICE - switches betwen 1-voice and 2-voice modes
VOLUME - controls the overall volume of the sound

MODULATOR
SPEED - regulates speed of modulation
MODE - switches between several waveforms of the modulation oscillator

OSC I
BAND - switches octaves
WAVEFORM - switches between 5 waveforms of the oscillator
MODULATION - controls the frequency modulation depth
OSC I - regulates the amount of frequency modulation by the signal of OSC I

OSC II
BAND - switches octaves
WAVEFORM - switches between 5 waveforms of the oscillator
MODULATION - controls the frequency modulation depth
PITCH - detunes the pitch of OSC II

MIXER
OSC I, OSC II, NOISE, AUX IN - the volumes of the correspondig sound sources

FILTER
ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, RELEASE - the very ordinary controls
CUTOFF - cutoff frequency of the lowpass filter mode or central frequency of the bandpass filter mode
RES - sets the resonance peak of the filter
BPF/LPF - switches between bandpass filter and lowpass filter modes
ADSR MODE - switches between single-triggering mode and self-triggering mode of ADSR
MODULATION - sets the amount of cutoff frequency modulation by MODULATOR voltage
ADSR - sets the amount of cutoff frequency modulation by ADSR

AMPLIFIER
ATTACK, DECAY, SUSTAIN, RELEASE - the very ordinary controls
ADSR MODE - switches between single-triggering mode and self-triggering mode of ADSR
MODULATION - sets the amount of amplitude modulation
KEY ON - imitates pressing the key and triggering both ADSRs

POWER - switches on and off the power

BAND I, SCALE I, PITCH I - trim pots for tuning OSC I
BAND II, SCALE II, PITCH II - trim pots for tuning OSC II

BRIEF DESCRIPTION & FEATURES

As you can see the Polivoks has many controls that we meet on the panels of other vintage analogue synths. But it has some great features that differ Polivoks from other synths.

First of all, its keyboard. The keys have magnetically controlled vacuum contacts that makes keyboard very reliable, it doesn't produce any electrical noise during the years of work.

GLIDE control is connected only to OSC I to produce guitar-like bending sounds.

OUTPUT switch allows the output to be cancelled. It is very usefull feature when you need to make setting for other timbre during performance. In this case you hear the sound only in head phones.

Both ADSRs have unique switches: ADSR MODE. This switch has 2 modes: single-triggering and self-triggering. In the single-triggering mode any pressed key causes single triggering of ADSR. In the self-triggering mode and SUSTAIN control set to 0 ADSR outputs oscillations with the period of time equal to the sum of ATTACK and DECAY times. You can set any period and any form of oscillations with these controls. You get ONE EXTRA modulation oscillator with wide range for modulation of the cutoff frequency and SECOND EXTRA modulation oscillator for amplitude modulation! In some synths you can find triggering of the ADSR from modulator (LFO), but in case of the Polivoks self-triggering is synchronized with pressing of the key. That's why you will never lose the attack of sound.
Look at the switch KEY ON. This modest switch can get free one of your hands because it imitates pressing of the key with triggering of ADSRs. After switching KEY ON you can set controls with both hands.
With the pedal connected to its port at the back side of the synth you can control the cutoff frequency of FILTER by your foot.
At last you can use Polivoks for getting modulating effects to any external sound source.
